Vitamin C serum is a very popular beauty product these days.  Clients ask me all the time if they should be using a vitamin C serum to improve their skin.  Much like a recent post I did on vitamins for the skin, using a serum can also be extremely helpful in achieving your skin care goals and I highly recommend incorporating a serum in to your skin care routine.

A face serum is a lightweight moisturizer that works at a deeper level to improve the skin. With that said, the serum you use needs to be relevant to your age and skin care goals.  Each serum addresses different issues So, while a vitamin C serum might work for many people, depending on your goals, there may be something better!

For the purpose of this post, I’m going to break down serum usage by age.  I’ll map out which serum you should use and what it may help with.  Please keep in mind these are just general guidelines.  If you’d like me to personalize some recommendations for you, contact me to schedule a consultation.

What serum should I use?

If you’re:

20 – 30 years old – I recommend my TGF Booster serum.  This serum is wonderful for someone with younger skin.  It can help prevent and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  This serum also works at a cellular level to stimulate the production of soluble collagen and elastin from human fibroblasts.  Simply put, it can help you maintain a healthy glow and youthful skin.

30 – 40 years old – I recommend my Rx serum, which is basically a vitamin C serum.  This serum is an all-in-one complexion enhancer.  It can work to hydrate dry skin and minimize the appearance of wrinkles, uneven tone, and dullness.

40 years old and beyond – Depending on your skin care goals I would recommend one of three different serums.  My vitamin C serum, called Vita-C is the perfect choice, along with my Collagen Peptide serum or my Retinal serum.  Each of these products offer slightly different benefits but the common denominator is they all have anti-aging properties which can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and more.

The most expensive vitamin C serum isn’t always the best
